Orkney - Main Monuments

Orkney has a wealth of sites of interest which date from the spectacular Neolithic sites of the Ring of Brodgar, Skara Brae, the Standing Stones and Maeshowe, which constitute a World Heritage Site through the Iron Age brochs and the Viking St Magnus Cathedral to more recent buildings such as Balfour Castle.

There are literally hundreds of major and minor sites to visit as well as museums and other visitor attractions covering every period from 5,000 years ago to the present day.
